Cairo – literally: «the conqueror» – is a diverse and unique city that also demands a great deal from its inhabitants: Material need, religious precepts and political restrictions make the pursuit of happiness a challenge for most of them. Nevertheless, individual Cairo citizens, beset by stress and existential fears, manage to find different ways to enjoy moments of bliss.
